Today was Dash's 6 month checkup. Turned out to be a checkup, up, up, up. As you can see from Exhibit A, the boy is officially ready to earn an ironic nickname like "Benjaminny" (his middle name is...well, you can figure it out). Why, if he were able to stand, and if other babies could talk, they'd be asking him about the weather up there.

I'm probably being slow but I don't get the joke about Benjaminny. Yes I know his middle name is Benjamin, but that's as far as I get.
Way to go Dashiell!!!!
love, g'ma laurie
Oh, you know, Aunt Debby, like when a fat person is called "Slim" or there's the 6'5" actor, "Tiny" Lister. It's ironic. Benja-minny. Still nothing?
Well, I didn't get it right away either. It's "mini", right? By the way, he has a great-great grandmother by the name of Minnie McTaggert. Grannypokey
Oh, like mini. Got it. Speaking of 6'5" actors, Dash really didn't have a chance with tall genes on both sides. Think of your cousin Daniel and Tahl is tall for a woman.
Yeah, Carla pointed out that I should have spelled it Benjamini. How tall IS Daniel? Probably 6'4", at least, huh? I don't remember him being especially tall as a boy. Dash just may give him a run for his money.
Minnie McTaggert. What a great name! I'm assuming that's short for Minerva, right?
I think someone said Daniel is 6'7". Whatever. And yes, you're right I don't remember him being tall as a kid.
Minerva? I doubt it. The family was not very sophisticated...Minnie, it was, as far as I know. Minnie Armour McTaggert -and I haven't a clue about the Armour part. Same gal who leaned into the coffin and said, "Ha-ha-ha on you, Johnnie..." when her husband died (he had quite a reputation as an ornery cuss). A fine bit of family history there for the not so wee Dashiell. Grannypokey
Sharon, Minnie sounds like a really interesting lady, that story about her is making me smile. Debby
Hey, what about my height? I was the tallest until Daniel shot up and passed me.At least I will keep my weight belt title.
So much for the height and weight; how about the developmental milestones? We could only read part of that report. Let's hear about his stunning feats of strength and agility (we do know he's really good at grabbing dad's hair).
