Developing right along, Dash has reached two new plateaus. First, he is sitting. Well, almost. If you've ever played "Pass The Pigs," you might recognize this as a Leaning Jowler:
Next up, Dash has learned to complete a full push-up. Not quite ready for Boot Camp, but then again, not quite ready for boots.

Dash don't need no stinkin' pushups. He just needs to levitate.
Really getting strong! We ex-PE teachers notice these things. GrannyPokey
Thanks for the video, Granny Pokey!
Wow, he'll be up and walking soon! He's building those muscles. There was an article in the WSJ this morning about what should be in a crib and what shouldn't. It's in the Personal Journal section if you want to access it. I'm not sure I totally agree with it but you guys might find it helpful.
love, g'ma laurie
Jeez, that article makes it sound like everything is unsafe for babies. I guess the good news is Dash doesn't sleep in the crib. Yet, at least. He sleeps with us -- which, yes, they say is unsafe, but try telling that to the rest of the world -- and naps in the big bed under the watchful eyes of Daddy.
I did think the article was a bit over the top, but thought you should see it in case. If there aren't bumpers on a crib then the baby can really hurt himself, and I never saw a crib that didn't have soft toys and stimulative materials and mobiles. I wonder what the reason for that kind of an article was.
Anyway, I am so enjoying the sweet smile on his face as he attempts to sit.
